Be sure to stop by to browse in Oom Samie Se Winkel, a Victorian-era general dealer in historic Dorp Street. Rummage through the shelves to find old fashioned sticky toffees, boiled sweets, collectible books, vintage clothing and authentic old butter churns. Feeling hungry after all that walking? Day 2 - Exploring the Winelands
Stellenbosch Wine Routes was the first wine route ever formed in South Africa, in 1971! Stellenbosch Wine Routes is now the largest of all the South African wine routes in terms of number of members. With about 130 wine estates in the Stellenbosch area it is impossible to visit all the wineries in just one visit. The Stellenbosch Wine Routes has thus been divided into 5 sub routes (Bottelary Hills, Greater Simonsberg, Helderberg, Stellenbosch Valley and Stellenbosch Berg)to make travelling along the route even more user friendly. There are many reputable wine route tour guides in Stellenbosch that can navigate your winery tour for you. Most of the wineries offer tours of the estate, wine tasting and dining facilities. Some wineries might even surprise you with additional features like wine pairings, prepared picnics, game drives, horse riding, mountain biking trails, Ebike tours and so much more.

Day 3 - A Day at Vredenheim
Vredenheim is not an ordinary wine estate! This family-owned establishment offers something for everyone! Being a wine estate you can expect that there is a tasting room where there is a wine for every palate and even grape juice for the little ones. Do some gin tasting at Classic Cats while viewing vintage cars in their impressive showroom. What makes this a truly remarkable place to visit is the Big Cats Park which is currently home to lions, leopards, Bengal tigers and a wide variety of game and birds. Children can play in the play park which includes a bike track, jungle gym and sandpit. They can also meet a variety of farm animals and get the opportunity to feed some of them. Vredenheim hosts two restaurants. Barrique, the family owned restaurant and Hudson's, a privately owned and award winning restaurant. You can even do some shopping at Vredenheim Gift Shop, De Boerderijwinkel and Le Riche Perfumery.
